Greetings! Kitty Marie here, just elaborating on my review policy. The vast majority of books I’m talking about on my blog are ones I’ve either purchased myself or picked up at my local library.
I intend to avoid major spoilers in reviews. I may talk about major plot points revealed within the first 20% or so of a book, especially if it’s essential to the review-writing process.
I read a wide range of genres. YA, Adult, General Fiction, Fantasy, Literary Fiction, Horror/Thriller/Mystery, Romance, Graphic Novels, etc. I also enjoy what on Netgalley is referred to as Multicultural Interest books. I do seek out #ownvoices books with biracial, Asian, mental health and neurodiversity rep as I can relate on a personal level to these topics and review more insightfully about them.
If I’m given a book by a publisher or author in exchange for a review, or are approved for an ARC from Netgalley, that information will be included before or after the relevant review. A note about my rating scale- I rate books on a scale of 1-10. A 7 is “good” and a 10 is “fantastic”. Sort of similar to school grade percentages but with 7 being “good” rather than “passing.”
Most books will likely get 7s, 8s, 9s, and 10s as I would usually DNF books if I’m not liking them, to avoid reading slumps.
