Thursday Discussion : Books With Pink On The Cover

Many thanks to Ally from Ally Writes Things for the wonderful Thursday Discussion topic.

October 3: books with pink on the cover (because it’s Mean Girls day!)

My original drafting of this topic was going to include a bunch of books with too much garish pink. I’ve since re-thought that and decided to put more subtle use of pinks on book covers. Some of these will still be extremely pink though. Long story short, I love pink and so this is going to be a very pic-heavy post.

First are covers of The Far Pavilions by M.M. Kaye. I’m glad every cover, including the newer reissued versions, make great use of the beautiful pink and purple landscape seen on the original cover (third picture.) This is one of my favorite books and that region of pink is just the cherry on top. The second cover (Russian version?) is my favorite by far. I would love to have that as a poster/tapestry.

Next up are some cute pink flower petals in books. Mainly cherry blossoms, because cherry blossoms are my ultimate weakness. Ignite Me’s use of pink is tiny but very eye-catching up close. I’ve only read Ignite Me amongst these three, though the other two have adorable-sounding plot lines.

Now for some random YA titles that I think make great use of pink. Many thanks to Dana from Devour Books With Dana for mentioning It’s Not Like It’s A Secret some time ago, which sounds wonderful and is high on my TBR. 🙂 The other two are also pretty high up there. I wish book cover posters were more of a thing because I would buy a lot of them and fill up my walls.

Now for pink clouds! (or in the case of Big Magic, cloudy-looking enough) This might be my favorite group. Pink sky is the best sky. I’ve read The Wind Up Bird Chronicle and The Babysitter’s Coven this year, they’re both worth checking out if they look interesting to you.

And one final one I was going to leave out but thought what the heck, I want to mention it anyway. A TBR title. I want to stare forever at the real life version of that dress. 😮

If you’ve made a post on this topic be sure to drop me a line below and I’ll check it out, definitely here for finding more beautifully pink books. Otherwise, do you have any of the titles mentioned above on your TBR, or have you read them before and have any thoughts? Always loving your comments. Thanks for reading! ~ Kitty
