WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words.
I first found out about this meme on Stargazer‘s reading blog.

The three Ws are:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

Today I’ll be finishing The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. I’ve been buddy reading it with Dana from Devour Books With Dana. Incredible book, and it will be quite the challenge reviewing it since I have so many things to say and want to find the right words. Probably the most important and meaningful YA novel right now. Highly recommended.

What did you recently finish reading?

I’ve just finished reading Manga Classics adaptation of Les Miserables by Victor Hugo. I’ve also finished reading Sense and Sensibility, also adapted by Manga Classics, but I am showcasing Les Miserables in particular because I think it is by far THE BEST title that Manga Classics has come out with and I can’t imagine it can be out-matched. I deeply hope they can continue working with the artist who drew this one, they were fantastic and offered up a timely style. I have some others titles from their collection on my immediate TBR. Many thanks to Udon Entertainment for accepting my requests on NetGalley and marking me for auto-approval. The height of great that this particular adaptation is has inspired me to add Les Miserables to my yet-to-be-made “Books I Need To Read Before I Die” shelf on Goodreads. A 1,500 page book that is a classic no less seems like the challenge of my reading life, but I can now confirm that the story is richly worth it.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Girl Made Of Stars will be another buddy read with Dana, I’ve heard it’s heavy but very meaningful. The premise sounds like it may be similar to Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson.

Queen of Vampire Hearts is a kind of break from the heaviness and literature for me, lol, it seems to be a paranormal romance. Witch girl VS her enemy/eventual love interest, vampire guy, enemies to lovers, it just sounds fun. Another ARC from Netgalley. This one is coming out August 17th, 2019 so I’m hoping to get it done before then.

Ask Again, Yes. A library book from Overdrive. Very surprised that I have it in my hands since books with this level of buzz and great reputations usually have LONG waiting lists. To my understanding this title has several things I like- family sagas across a long period of time, feuding families, star-crossed love, and the writing is known to be of a high standard. Can’t wait!

Have you read any of these books or are planning to read them? Also let me know if you’ve done this tag today, I will check out your post.
